Post-doctorate
The post-doctorate consists of a period of internship offered by the PPGNS to holders of a doctoral degree obtained in the area of concentration of the Program and related areas and is aimed at professional improvement and the expansion of academic and scientific cooperation in scientific research groups and/or technological innovation at the Federal University of Espírito Santo.

The internship can take place in two forms: without a grant, on a voluntary basis, or with a grant, provided by funding agencies, foundations, companies, or other research support institutions.

The post-doctoral internship may last for a minimum of 3 (three) months and a maximum of 5 (five) years, and does not constitute a course or level of training, nor does it obtain a degree or academic title.

The post-doctoral internship has the following objectives:
I. promote high-level studies;
II. carry out relevant and innovative research;
III. provide professional development for Brazilian and foreign doctors through their inclusion in scientific research and/or technological innovation groups;
IV. expand academic and scientific cooperation between professors and researchers from different institutions.

The rules for postdoctoral studies at PPGNS/Ufes can be found in Resolution #18/2021 of the UFES Teaching, Research and Extension Council and in the Internal Regulations of the Postgraduate Program in Nutrition and Health.
